If we don't take a day off to the Lord, it is a form of "missing the mark." However, we should balance neglecting to observe it as a sin with what Jesus said about it in the Gospels. He said that that man was not made for the Sabbath, but Sabbath for man. I think that means that a day of rest is meant to serve for our benefit. It's not to be a day where we try to make sure that we are observing it so much that we begin to serve the day itself and miss the point. In fine, I would say that it is a sin to not observe it, but if my friends horse falls in a ditch, or my own for that matter, it's ok to "work." Sometimes, I think the most spiritual thing we can do is take a nap. I think as we work in a church, we forget with all the work we have to get done, that time with just God and no agenda is not taken care of. The sad part is, it might be frowned upon, because you are not being productive. I still feel that way when I don't have a "job", but trying to get things done for my own stuff, and other ministries I am involved in. What I am trying to say, "TAKE A DAY OFF, STUPID"!
